I stumbled upon the Libray of Congress' photostream on flickr. I could spend days looking through these pictures. I was surprised to find out that the Istanbul (Constantinople) pictures, especially #2 and #3, are photochrom and not photographs (more about photochroms).
Turkey between 1890-1900
School in New York between 1910 - 1915
(notice the captions on the photographs)
these are amazing, so much life in them and story behind it all, i want to see more now :)
